About the Chelsea – Buttoned Surround
Buttoning is a slow detail. Each button is drawn into the padding and holds the fabric in a shallow dimple, so the surface catches light unevenly and gains a depth that flat upholstery never quite manages. On the Chelsea that treatment runs around the surround, which is what gives the bed the character of a well-made sofa rather than a frame with fabric stretched over it.
It rewards a fabric with some body to it, and it rewards a colour you are willing to commit to — the buttoning will show it off in every light in the room. Because each Chelsea is handcrafted from scratch after you order, you set the size, the fabric and the colour, and the bed is built to that alone.
