About the Dorchester Kids Divan Bed
The Dorchester is an upholstered bed frame built to a child's scale. With no storage in the base, the headboard is what gives it its character.
The Dorchester headboard
The headboard is one unbroken panel of cloth — no seams, channels or buttons anywhere on it. It is upholstered in the same cloth as the rest of the bed, so the bed arrives as one piece rather than a frame and a board that nearly match.
How it is built
This is a bed frame rather than a divan: the mattress sits down inside an upholstered surround, with the side rails and foot end finished in the same cloth as the headboard. There is no storage in the base, which keeps the lines low and lets the headboard do the work.
Drawers are offered as well: no storage, 2 drawers left side, 2 drawers right side, 2 drawers foot end or 4 drawers.
Sizes
4 sizes, measured across the finished bed at its widest point:
- Small Single 2FT6 — 75 cm wide × 191.5 cm long
- Single 3FT — 90 cm wide × 191.5 cm long
- Small Double 4FT — 120 cm wide × 191.5 cm long
- Double 4FT6 — 135 cm wide × 191.5 cm long
There is a full size guide on this page, with the bed drawn from the side and from above and every size shown to the same scale.
Choose your fabric
The Dorchester is upholstered to order in any of 26 colourways. Every part finished in cloth — the headboard, the base and the sides — is done in the fabric you pick.
Delivery and what is included
