Wall Panel 07C Gold and Black Marble: board width and joints
This guide is about
Wall Panel 07C - Gold and Black Marble - Wall Board - 240cm - (1 pack / 4pcs)
Wall Panel 07C - Gold and Black Marble is a flat PVC board with a marble effect face, not a slatted panel and not stone. It comes four boards to a pack, each 60 x 240 x 0.7cm, listed at 5.76m², with tongue and groove edges so the joints between boards are meant to close up rather than show. The listing calls the face a gold and black marble effect, and that wording is worth taking literally: the board is PVC, and the listing does not say how the marble figure is applied to the surface, so ask us if you need to know before you order.
What one pack holds
| Listed as | Figure |
|---|---|
| Board size | 60 x 240 x 0.7cm per panel |
| Boards per pack | 4 |
| Area covered | 5.76m² per pack |
| Material | PVC |
| Joint | Tongue and groove |
| Named edge strips | Aluminium end, corner and I strip, in black, gold or silver |
| Code | AWS-WP073 |
Read the size as width, height, thickness. One pack runs 2.4 metres along the wall at the full 240cm height, so order by wall width and treat the area figure as a cross-check rather than the thing you buy to.
Board width decides how many joints you see
The same gold and black marble is listed as a wider board. Wall Panel 011C is 90 x 240 x 0.7cm, two boards to a pack, covering 4.32m². Identical thickness, identical joint, different width, and on a marble pattern the width is what you notice:
| Wall width | 07C at 60cm | 011C at 90cm |
|---|---|---|
| 1.8m | 3 boards, 2 joints | 2 boards, 1 joint |
| 2.7m | 4 boards and a cut, 4 joints | 3 boards, 2 joints |
| 3.6m | 6 boards, 5 joints | 4 boards, 3 joints |
Fewer joints on a veined pattern means fewer places where the pattern changes direction, which is why the wider board suits an uninterrupted feature wall. The 60cm board earns its keep in the opposite situation: narrow returns, a chimney breast, the panel between two doors, or any wall where you would rather lose a 60cm board to the cut than a 90cm one. Mixing the two widths on one wall is possible because the thickness matches, but set the joints out on paper first or the rhythm looks accidental.
The edges are metal, and that is a colour choice
Some boards in this group name a colour-matched PVC strip. This one does not. The listing names three aluminium strips, each 300cm and ten to a pack, in black, gold or silver:
- End strip, for where the panelling stops part way along a wall or meets a window reveal.
- Corner strip, for an external corner where a cut edge would otherwise be on show.
- I strip, for a deliberate break between two boards instead of a closed joint.
So count your edges as carefully as your area: every stopped end, reveal and corner is a metal line in one of three colours, and against gold and black the choice reads strongly either way. The Trims & Fittings range holds all three.
What the listing does not say
- It describes the boards as moisture-resistant and maintenance-free, but gives no rating and names no room. If it is going behind a hob or in a shower, ask us before you order rather than assuming.
- Nothing about how the pattern repeats from board to board, so if the veining matters, ask for photographs of the boards you will actually be sent.
- No fixing method, adhesive or cutting advice, and no weight figure for hanging anything on it.
If the same colourway needs to work acoustically rather than as a flat sheet, Wall Panel 01WN is the gold and black marble slat panel on a felt backing at 1.5cm thick. For a lighter version of the same idea, Wall Panel 07D - Gold and White Marble shares this board's size and pack. The full group sits in Slat & Acoustic Panels.
