Wall Panel 92D Dark Oak: pack coverage and a 240cm height
This guide is about
Wall Panel 92D - Dark Oak - Outdoor - 240cm - (1 pack / 12pcs)
Wall Panel 92D - Dark Oak - Outdoor - 240cm is sold twelve panels to a pack, code AWS-OWP92D, and its listing gives the three figures that settle a quantity: 16 x 240 x 1.2cm per panel, 4.61m² of cover per pack, and a face made of 2.4cm slats with 1.4cm between them. This post uses those figures on two ordinary walls.
A 240cm panel against a 240cm height
The length is the first thing to look at, because 240cm is close to the height a great many people clad to: the top of a boundary wall, the underside of a soffit on a single-storey extension, the head of a garden store. Where your height is 240cm or a little under, each panel runs floor to top in one piece and the only cut is at the last panel in the run. Where the height is even slightly over, you have a second row and a horizontal joint, and that joint changes the job more than the extra material does. So measure the height first, in two or three places, and only then work out the area.
Two worked quantities
- A fence run, 6m long by 1.8m high. That is 10.8m². At 4.61m² a pack, three packs give 13.83m², which covers it with enough left for cuts and a spare. Each 240cm panel is cut down to 1.8m, so there is a 60cm offcut per panel: usable for a short return or a store front, scrap otherwise.
- A courtyard wall, 4m long by 2.4m high. That is 9.6m². Two packs give 9.22m², which is just short, so it is three packs again, but this time with almost no cutting at all, because the panel length and the height agree. Same number of packs, much less waste, and a cleaner wall.
The published figures agree with each other, which is reassuring when you are relying on them: 16cm of cover along 240cm is 0.384m², and twelve panels make the 4.61m² quoted. Note that the dimensions are listed without labels; 240cm is clearly the length, but confirm which of the other two is the cover width before anyone cuts.
What dark oak means on this listing
It is the colour name, nothing more. The description gives the material as engineered composite with textured slats, and says it is UV resistant so colour and structure hold under prolonged sun. It does not name the polymer, state any wood content, describe the grain, or give a sheen level. Dark finishes also show salt, dust and water marks sooner than mid tones, and no cleaning guidance is published, so ask the shop what is suitable before you take anything abrasive to it.
Order the trim and brackets with the panels
The listing says trim pieces are sold separately and recommends brackets for installation, naming the Wall Panel 92 Trim - 240cm and the Bracket For Outdoor Panels 73/83/84/92. No bracket spacing is published, so ask how many per panel and what they fix into. The other colours on identical figures are Wall Panel 92T - Walnut - Outdoor - 240cm and Wall Panel 92E - Black - Outdoor - 240cm, with the full range in Outdoor Wall Panels.
