Wall Panel 89A Oak: quote the full code, and check the coverage

Wall Panel 89A Oak: quote the full code, and check the coverage — Langham Furniture journal

This guide is about

Wall Panel 89A - Oak - Outdoor - 290cm - (1 pack / 6pcs)

View the product

Wall Panel 89A in Oak is a PVC composite outdoor panel, 290cm long, six panels to a pack, covering 2.78m² once fitted. Its listing ends with an instruction in capitals: quote the full product code and title when placing an order. That is not boilerplate, and it is the first thing to explain.

Why the code matters on this one

The outdoor range runs in numbered groups that sit very close together. There is an 88 group and an 89 group, and both include an oak, a grey oak, a dark oak and a walnut at 290cm in packs of six. Read quickly, Wall Panel 88A in Oak and Wall Panel 89A in Oak are the same line of text with one digit different. The profiles and the fittings are not necessarily interchangeable, and a wall part-finished in the wrong group is not a problem you can fix with a second order.

So when you order, or when you send a question through the product page, give the full title and the product code printed on it rather than a description like the oak outdoor panel. If you are adding to an existing wall, the safest thing you can send the shop is a photograph of a panel you already have.

What one pack covers

The panel size is listed as 16 x 290 x 2cm when fitted and interlocked, which is helpfully explicit: the 16cm is the width you get on the wall, not the width of the loose panel. Six of them at 16cm by 290cm works out at 2.784m², matching the published 2.78m² per pack.

A pack is therefore a strip just under a metre wide and 290cm tall. Divide your wall width in centimetres by 16 for panels, then by six for packs, and round up. At 290cm the panels clear most boundary and courtyard walls in one length, so the usual cut is to height rather than a horizontal joint.

Two trims, including a corner

This group names both of the pieces that finish a real wall: Wall Panel 88/89 End Trim at 290cm, and Wall Panel 88/89 Corner Trim at 290cm. The corner strip is the one worth noting, because several other groups in the range name an edge trim and nothing for an external angle. If your panelling wraps round a corner, this group already has an answer for it. Both are separate products in outdoor trims and fittings, and the trims are listed at 290cm to match the panel.

What is claimed, and what is not

The listing describes an engineered PVC composite for outdoor use with textured slats, and says the panels are UV resistant, holding colour and structural integrity under prolonged sun. It does not publish a test standard, a fire rating, a panel weight, a slat width or the space between slats, and it does not say what fixings the wall behind needs. The 84 group publishes its slat and gap figures; this one does not, so if the exact slat rhythm matters to your design, ask the shop before ordering.

Within the group, Wall Panel 89B in Grey Oak, Wall Panel 89D in Dark Oak and Wall Panel 89T in Walnut are the other finishes, all 290cm in packs of six. Everything else is under outdoor wall panels.

If the plain oak is the one, the figures to put in front of the shop are the wall width, the wall height in three places and the number of corners, and the full title and code from the Wall Panel 89A in Oak page. Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond it.
