88/89 End Trim: where a panel run stops, and how many to count

88/89 End Trim: where a panel run stops, and how many to count — Langham Furniture journal

This guide is about

Wall Panel 88/89 End Trim - 290cm (1 Pack / 4pcs)

View the product

Every run of cladding stops somewhere. Where it stops against nothing — a wall that ends mid-garden, the side of an outbuilding, a window reveal — the cut edge of the board is on show unless something caps it. The Wall Panel 88/89 End Trim is that cap, four 290cm lengths to a pack.

An end section is not a corner section

They are two products for a reason. A corner wraps two faces that meet at an angle; an end closes a single edge where the panelling simply stops. Neither listing publishes its section, so the profile of each one is a question for the shop rather than something you can read off the page. It is an easy mix-up to make on paper, because both sit in the trims range at the same length and the same pack size. The test is simple: if the edge turns, you want the 88/89 Corner Trim; if it simply stops, you want this one.

Counting the ends in a run

Walk the job and count edges rather than metres. Every free-standing vertical edge takes one length. A door or window opening set into panelling has two sides and a head, so three. A wall that runs between two returns has no open ends at all and needs none of this.

Four pieces to a pack covers four edges, which goes less far than it sounds: an elevation with two open ends and one opening set into it already needs five. Do the count before you order rather than assuming a pack is an elevation. And because each length is 290cm while the 88 and 89 boards are also listed at 290cm, the ratio is one length per edge with nothing left over. Order on that basis.

Same boards, same length

The listing names the panels it fits in two families of four finishes: 88A, 88B, 88D and 88T in oak, grey oak, dark oak and walnut, then 89A, 89B, 89D and 89T in the same four. Each of those boards is listed at 290cm, six to a pack. If your cladding comes from another family, the match is elsewhere in the range — the Wall Panel 92 Trim and the Wall Panel 84 Trim cover two of the others, both at 240cm.

What the size line leaves open

The dimensions read TBC x TBC x 290cm per trim. The length is firm; the section is not published, so how much of the board edge this trim covers cannot be read off the page. Nor is there a finish option, even though the boards it fits come in four colours, which leaves two things to confirm with the shop: the colour you will receive, and whether it is matched to your cladding. There is one photograph on the product page, and a single image is not a colour match.

Order it with the rest

Ends, corners and borders are wanted at the same time as the boards. A missing trim leaves a raw edge on an otherwise finished wall, and nobody wants to look at that while they wait. Settle the section and the finish, count your open edges, then order the 88/89 end trim pack alongside your outdoor wall panels. Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond.
