Wall Panel 84E Black: how much wall one pack of twelve covers

Wall Panel 84E Black: how much wall one pack of twelve covers — Langham Furniture journal

This guide is about

Wall Panel 84E - Black - Outdoor - 240cm - (1 pack / 12pcs)

View the product

Two packs in this range look similar on the shelf and cover very different amounts of wall. Wall Panel 84E in Black is the twelve-piece pack at 240cm, and the published coverage is 4.61m². The six-piece 290cm packs are nothing like that, which is worth knowing before you compare anything.

Twelve short panels or six long ones

Coverage per pack, as each listing states it:

PackPanelsLengthArea covered
84E and the rest of the 84 group12240cm4.61m²
89A, 89B and 89D6290cm2.78m²
87A6290cm2.35m²

So a pack of 84E covers about two thirds more wall than an 89 pack and nearly twice what the 87A pack does, because doubling the panel count beats adding 50cm to each one. Work in square metres when you are deciding how many packs to buy, and in panel widths when you are setting the wall out. Those are two different sums and mixing them is how people end up one panel short.

What a pack reaches across a wall

Each panel is listed at 16 x 240 x 1cm, and twelve of them at 16cm come to 1.92m of wall width. A single pack therefore covers a little under two metres across by the full 240cm height, which suits a courtyard return, the wall behind a bench, or the back of a small terrace. A wall any wider than that needs a second pack, and it is worth ordering both together so the batch matches.

The listing does not say whether the long edges overlap once fitted, which other packs in this range are explicit about, so confirm whether that 1.92m is the face width or the covered width before you plan a continuous run.

Black on a small wall

The profile is slatted: 2.4cm slats with a 1.4cm space between them, a 3.8cm repeat. In black, those gaps stop reading as gaps and read as a single dark textured plane, which is the argument for using black in a small outdoor space rather than avoiding it in one. It gives you a recessive backdrop that plants, a light fitting or a pale paving slab sit in front of, rather than a wall that announces itself. Check the 84E photographs for the sheen level, because the listing does not describe it.

Where the listing stops

It describes an engineered composite for outdoor use, calls the panels UV resistant and says they resist fading, warping and moisture damage, with no test standard, fire rating or panel weight published alongside. Nor does it name the fixings for a particular substrate. It names Wall Panel 84 Trim at 240cm, and Bracket For Outdoor Panels in a pack of fifty, which it recommends for installation. Both are separate products in outdoor trims and fittings, so ask what the panel box actually contains.

The other blacks, and the step away from it

Wall Panel 92E in Black is the other 240cm twelve-piece black pack, and Wall Panel 83E in Black covers the 180cm and 290cm lengths in packs of six. If black feels too strong for the space, Wall Panel 84F in Khaki is the same pack in khaki. The full set is under outdoor wall panels.
