Wall Panel 63 Trim: the edges it covers and how many packs
This guide is about
Wall Panel 63 Trim - PVC - 240cm - (1 pack / 10pcs)
Most of a panelled wall is board. The part that decides whether it looks finished is the few centimetres at the top, the bottom and wherever two boards meet. The Wall Panel 63 Trim is the slim PVC profile for those lines: 240cm long, listed at 2 x 1.5cm in section, ten lengths to a pack.
It names the board it is listed for
This is unusually helpful on a trim listing. The description states that it fits Wall Panel 63A - Oak - PVC - 240cm - (1 pack / 8pcs), so there is no guessing about which system it belongs to. The finish choice then covers the rest of that family, with A Oak for Panel 63A, B Grey for Panel 63B and T Walnut for Panel 63T. Order the letter that appears on the board packs you already have, or are about to buy. The listing stops short of saying how closely the two finishes read against each other in the flesh, so if the wall sits in strong light, ask the shop to compare a length with a board before it is sent.
A 2 x 1.5cm section, and where that is enough
The listing records the size as 2 x 1.5 x 240cm per trim. That is a small profile. On those figures it should sit tidily along a top edge, a skirting line or a vertical join without standing far proud of the wall, but it is not the piece for an external corner, where you need cover on two faces at once. Which of the two figures is the face and which is the depth is not spelled out on the listing, so if a specific face width matters to your detail, ask the shop to measure one before you order.
Trim packs and board packs do not match up
| Listed as | Pieces | Length each |
|---|---|---|
| This trim | 10 per pack | 240cm |
| Wall Panel 63A board, per its name | 8 per pack | 240cm |
Because the listing gives no covering width for the boards, you cannot work out your trim count from your board count. Measure instead: add up the real length of every edge and join you intend to cover, in metres, and divide by 24, which is what ten 240cm lengths come to. Round up. Offcuts from a 240cm length are usually long enough to be useful somewhere else on the same wall, but only if you plan the cuts rather than working along the wall one length at a time.
What pairs with it, and what does a different job
For external angles on the same wall, the Wall Panel 63 Corner Strip is the matching piece, in the same three letters and a much deeper 4 x 4cm section. Other board systems have their own equivalents in the trims and fittings range, such as the Wall Panel 21 Trim or Strip A for WP 05, 61 and 62. They look similar in a photograph and are not substitutes, so go by the panel code every time.
Ordering
Three figures settle it: the metres of edge and join you are covering, the finish letter on your boards, and whether any corner on the wall is external rather than internal. Delivery is free inside 50 miles of our Glasgow store, and £50 beyond that. When the figures are written down, order the Wall Panel 63 Trim in that letter, and ask the shop if your layout needs a profile the listing does not describe.
