Wall Panel 42WT Walnut: ordering a whole room's worth

Wall Panel 42WT Walnut: ordering a whole room's worth — Langham Furniture journal

This guide is about

Wall Panel 42WT - Walnut - Acoustic - 240cm - (1 pack / 4pcs)

View the product

One wall is a straightforward order. A room, a stairwell or an office is a different exercise, and the figures on the page are only the start of it. Wall Panel 42WT in walnut is a felt-backed slat panel we buy in: four pieces a pack, each 60 x 240 x 1.7cm, with 5.76m² quoted per pack.

Two readings of that table matter more than the square metres. A cut panel still comes out of a pack whole, so five panels mean two packs whether the fifth is full width or not. And on a bigger job the spares are not waste: keep them for a later alteration, because nothing on the listing promises a later batch will match this one.

The questions a bigger order should ask

  1. Fire classification. Not stated anywhere on the page. For an office, a let, a salon or any shared space, ask us for it before you commit, and get it in writing.
  2. Acoustic test data. The description claims the felt backing absorbs sound and reduces noise transmission, with no figure, class or standard quoted. If a specification has to be met, that number has to come from the manufacturer.
  3. Batch consistency. Order the whole job at once and ask for it to be picked from one run.
  4. Fixing and substrate. No fixing method is named. Tell us what the walls are, because plasterboard, plaster and painted masonry are not the same job. We sell panel adhesive by the pack, but this panel does not name it.
  5. Access. A 240cm panel does not turn in a tight stairwell or a lift lobby. Check the route in before the delivery day.

Walnut across a whole room

Walnut is a strong tone to use at scale. Full height on facing walls can close a room down, so decide which walls earn it and what the others do instead. Mixing codes in one room is where matching gets risky: 41WT is walnut at the same stated size under the neighbouring code, and neither listing explains what separates the profiles, so do not assume two walls panelled in different codes will read as one finish. Where a stairwell needs more height, 02WT is the 280cm walnut panel, three to a pack, with its own figures to check. A quieter wall can take 42F in grey oak for contrast.

Before you place it

Send a sketch with each wall's width, its height at both ends, and the doors, windows, sockets and brackets marked. We will turn that into a panel count and a pack count, confirm the current lead time, and flag anything that wants a trim rather than a cut. Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond. The figures, the photographs and code AWS-HWP025 are on the Wall Panel 42WT walnut page, alongside the rest of Slat & Acoustic Panels.
