Wall Panel 02WO Grey Marble: sizes, coverage and plain grey
This guide is about
Wall Panel 02WO - Grey Marble - Acoustic - 280cm - (1 pack / 3pcs)
Grey is the safe choice on a feature wall, and that is exactly why it is worth deciding between a plain grey and a marble one before you order. The Wall Panel 02WO in Grey Marble sits in the taller format of the slat and acoustic panel range, at 280cm per panel and three panels to a pack.
The listed figures
| Detail | As listed |
|---|---|
| Panel size | 60 x 280 x 1.7cm per panel |
| Pieces per pack | 3 |
| Area covered | 5.04m² per pack |
| Slat width | 3.5cm |
| Space between slats | 1.5cm |
| Trim named | Wall Panel PVC Trim Acoustic |
The description gives HDF slats on a felt backing with a grey marble finish. Read the size as width, height, thickness: 60cm wide, 280cm tall, 1.7cm off the wall. Slat and gap repeat every 5cm, which divides into a 60cm panel twelve times. Which slat lands at a panel edge is not stated, so ask the shop what a butted joint looks like if the spacing has to run on across the seam.
Marble face or plain grey
In the same 280cm, three-panel format the range also offers the Wall Panel 02WB in Grey, a plain grey rather than a marble face. The dimensions are the same, so this is purely a decision about the face, and two things are worth weighing. A marble face draws the eye to the panel, which suits a wall you want people to notice behind a bed or a sofa. A plain grey lets the slats do the work on their own, which is usually the better choice when the wall already has a television, shelving or artwork on it. The listing does not state how far the marble pattern repeats from panel to panel, so if you are running several packs side by side, ask the shop what the photographs show across a full wall.
What one pack covers
Three panels at 60cm wide reach 1.8m across the wall at full height:
- Up to 1.8m wide: one pack
- Up to 3.6m wide: two packs
- Up to 5.4m wide: three packs
The 5.04m² in the listing is the face area of the three panels, not a usable allowance. Count panels across the wall instead of dividing wall area by 5.04, because a panel cut around a socket or a window reveal is still a whole panel gone.
Measuring before you order
- Measure floor to ceiling in three places. At 280cm there is room to trim but not to stretch, and an old ceiling can lose you several centimetres at one end.
- Measure the wall width top and bottom and work from the wider figure.
- Decide the start point. Set out from a corner or from the centre of the wall, then check the width of the panel that lands at the other end.
- Allow 1.7cm where the finished face meets a skirting return, an architrave or a radiator.
Matching pieces, and what the listing leaves out
The same grey marble face is listed at 240cm, four to a pack, as the Wall Panel 01WO Grey Marble, which suits a standard ceiling. For a lighter marble in this height, the Wall Panel 02WK in White Marble shares every dimension. Edges are finished with the trim the listing names, Wall Panel PVC Trim Acoustic, and the panel trims and fittings range carries the end and corner profiles; trims are sold in their own lengths, so check yours covers a 280cm edge.
No absorption coefficient, test standard or fire rating is quoted. The description says the felt backing manages sound, and that is all the data there is, so treat the panel as felt-backed slatted panelling rather than a measured acoustic treatment. The listing also gives no panel weight, no felt colour, no fixing method and no statement of whether the face is printed or a veneer. Ask the shop about any of those before you commit, and ask for the current lead time at the same time.
