Wall Panel 02WA - Oak - Acoustic - 280cm - (1 pack / 3pcs)

View the product

Most of the slat panels in this range are 240cm. Wall Panel 02WA is 280cm, and that is the whole reason to choose it: a tall room, a stairwell wall, a loft conversion or a hallway with a raised ceiling can be panelled floor to ceiling in one piece rather than with a horizontal join across the middle. It is oak-finished HDF slats on a felt backing, three panels to a pack. The figures below come from the Wall Panel 02WA oak acoustic panel listing.

The listed figures

ItemListed figure

Slat width3.5cm
Space between slats1.5cm

Trim namedWall Panel PVC Trim Acoustic

The coverage checks out: 0.6m x 2.8m is 1.68m² a panel, and three give the 5.04m² quoted. Read the dimensions as 60 wide, 280 tall and 1.7 deep, which the 280cm in the name supports, though the listing does not label them, so confirm which figure is which before cutting.

Measure the height first, not the width

With a 280cm panel the height is the decision. Measure floor to ceiling in several places along the wall, because older rooms are rarely level, and take the tallest reading. If every reading is under 240cm, you do not need this panel and the 240cm options in the slat and acoustic panel range will leave you less off-cut to throw away. If any reading is over 240cm, this is the panel that avoids a join.

Then the width. Each pack is three 60cm panels, so one pack covers 1.8m of wall at full height. A 3m wall is five panels, which is two packs with one over. Measure the width at the top and at skirting level and work from the wider figure.

The wider slat, and what it does to the wall

This panel runs 3.5cm slats with 1.5cm gaps, a 5cm repeat, which is twelve repeats across a 60cm panel by arithmetic from the published figures. That is a broader, calmer rhythm than the 2.5cm slats used on several panels in the range, and on a tall wall it generally suits the proportions better: fine slats over 280cm can read as very busy. The listing does not state the slat count, so confirm it on the photographs if the setting-out has to be symmetrical.

Two practical notes. The panel is 1.7cm deep, so the finished face stands off the plaster by that much at skirting, architrave, cornice and any socket. And a 280cm panel is a long thing to carry: check the access, the turn at the top of the stairs and the lift if there is one, because the listing gives no packed weight or pack size.

Sound: the claim, without a figure

Slats on a felt backing is the standard acoustic build, and the description says the panel absorbs sound and reduces noise. No absorption coefficient, class or decibel figure is published, and nothing in the listing claims it stops sound travelling through the wall. In a tall, hard-surfaced room, which is exactly where a 280cm panel ends up, there is usually plenty of echo to take down. If a number is needed for a specification, ask the shop to get the supplier's data.

The rest of the 280cm family

The same panel comes in other finishes on identical dimensions, which keeps the panel count the same whichever you pick: Wall Panel 02WB in grey for something cooler and Wall Panel 02WT in walnut for something darker. If your wall turns out to be under 240cm after all, Wall Panel 01A in natural oak is the shorter equivalent in a similar finish, with its own slat figures on its page. The listing names Wall Panel PVC Trim Acoustic as the trim but gives no length or pack count, so ask what your run needs, and add adhesive for wall panels, which is not included.
