This guide is about

Wall Panel 01WX - Gold and White Marble - Acoustic - 240cm - (1 pack / 4pcs)

View the product

Wall Panel 01WX puts a gold and white marble effect onto the 60cm acoustic slat format: HDF slats on a felt backing, 240cm tall, four panels to a pack. It is a different proposition from a flat marble board, because the veining is broken up by the gaps between slats rather than running across an unbroken sheet. The Wall Panel 01WX gold and white marble acoustic panel listing carries nine photographs, which matters here more than usual, for the reason in the next section.

The listed figures

ItemListed figure
Panel size60 x 240 x 1.5cm per panel
Pieces per pack4
Area covered5.76m² per pack
Slat width2.5cm
Space between slats1.5cm
Slat materialHDF
BackingFelt
CodeAWS-WP0210

The coverage is consistent: 0.6m x 2.4m is 1.44m² a panel, four give the 5.76m² quoted. Read the dimensions as 60 wide, 240 tall, 1.5 deep, which the 240cm in the name supports, but the listing does not label them, so confirm which is which before cutting.

Trust the photographs, not the description

The product name says gold and white marble. The description text on the same listing talks about a natural oak finish. The listing never says which is right, and the supplier code, AWS-WP0210, carries no colour in it, so the written description cannot be relied on for the colour at all. Use the nine images, and ask the shop to confirm the finish before ordering if the wall has to work with a specific worktop, tile or metal fitting.

Two further things the listing does not say, and they are the ones people ask about marble effects: whether the pattern repeats panel to panel, and whether the gold is a printed line or a different sheen. Both decide how a four-panel run looks from across a room, and both are questions for the shop rather than guesses to make here.

How many panels, and where the cut lands

A pack of four covers 2.4m of wall width at the full 240cm height.

  • Measure the wall width at the top and at skirting level, and use the wider figure.
  • Divide by 0.6, round up, and that is your panel count.
  • Measure floor to ceiling. At 240cm the panel suits a wall up to that height, and anything taller needs a join or one of the 280cm panels in the slat and acoustic panel range.
  • The 2.5cm slat and 1.5cm gap give a 4cm repeat, fifteen across a panel by arithmetic from the figures given. With a patterned face it is worth setting out from the most visible corner so the trimmed panel goes where the pattern break shows least.
  • The panel stands 1.5cm off the plaster. Plan skirting, architrave and socket positions around that.

Slats or a flat board?

If what you want is marble, the honest comparison is with the flat format. Wall Panel 011D in gold and white marble is a 90cm PVC wall board, two to a pack, with a tongue and groove join and a named set of PVC and aluminium trims, and the listing describes it as moisture resistant and suited to kitchens and bathrooms. This 01WX panel is the acoustic slat version instead: textured, felt-backed, and nothing in its listing addresses damp areas. Pick the board for a splashback or a bathroom, the slat panel for a living room or an office wall where you also want the echo taken down.

Sound, and the order itself

The description says the panel absorbs sound and reduces noise transmission, and gives no absorption figure, class or decibel number. Nothing in it claims the panel stops sound passing through the wall. Treat it as a treatment for a hard room, and ask the shop for the supplier's figures if a specification needs them.

For the rest of the marble family, Wall Panel 01WK in white marble drops the gold and Wall Panel 01WN in gold and black marble is the dark version, both on the same format. Adhesive is not included, so add adhesive for wall panels, and ask which trim suits a 1.5cm panel. Delivery is free within 50 miles of the Glasgow store and £50 beyond, and the full set of images is on the Wall Panel 01WX gold and white marble acoustic panel page.
