Wall Panel 011B Grey Marble Board: 90cm boards and joint lines
This guide is about
Wall Panel 011B - Grey Marble - Wall Board - 240cm - (1 pack / 2pcs)
Wall Panel 011B - Grey Marble Wall Board is a flat PVC board rather than a slat panel, listed at 90 x 240 x 0.7cm per board, two boards to a pack and 4.32m² of coverage, with a tongue and groove joint. It is code AWS-WP0791 in the Slat & Acoustic Panels range. The listing describes the PVC as moisture resistant and points it at kitchens, bathrooms and commercial spaces.
90cm boards change where the joints fall
This is the main practical difference from the slatted panels beside it. A 90cm board means fewer joints across a wall, but it also means less freedom over where they land. Divide the wall width by 0.9 and round up for the board count, then divide by two for packs.
| Wall width | Boards at 0.9m wide | Packs of 2 | Spare boards |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.9m | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| 1.8m | 2 | 1 | 0 |
| 2.7m | 3 | 2 | 1 |
| 3.6m | 4 | 2 | 0 |
| 4.5m | 5 | 3 | 1 |
One caution on the arithmetic. The 4.32m² figure is two boards at 0.9m by 2.4m, which is the full board width. A tongue and groove joint normally overlaps, so the covered width per board may be slightly under 0.9m. On a wall where the sum lands exactly, ask the shop for the covered width before you order, or buy the extra pack.
Where the first board goes
Plan the wall from the end that will be seen. A run started in the corner you look at puts the cut board in the far corner, where a slightly short piece can be hidden by a trim. Over a worktop, set the boards out so a joint does not land in the middle of the hob or the sink, because that is the one line water keeps finding. Measure the height in three places and the width at the top and bottom. The listing gives the board as 0.7cm thick but says nothing about how rigid it is, or whether an uneven wall should be battened out first, so ask about that for a wall you know is bowed.
Check the depth at any window reveal and at the sockets on that wall. The board is thin, but 0.7cm is still enough to leave a face plate sitting proud or recessed depending on how it is fixed.
The trims named on the listing
The listing names a set of matching strips for these boards. They are separate lines, not part of the pack, and they are what makes the difference between a panelled wall and a tidy panelled wall.
| Named on the listing | Pack |
|---|---|
| PVC Strip B - B Grey Marble - WP 07/11 - 240cm | 1 pack / 10pcs |
| Aluminium End Strip - Black / Gold / Silver - 300cm | 1 pack / 10pcs |
| PVC Corner Strip - B Grey Marble - WP 07/11 - 240cm | 1 pack / 4pcs |
| Aluminium Corner Strip - Black / Gold / Silver - 300cm | 1 pack / 10pcs |
| Aluminium I Strip - Black / Gold / Silver - 300cm | 1 pack / 10pcs |
Ask for them by those names, and ask which strip the shop recommends for each junction on your wall: the choice between a colour-matched PVC strip and a metal one is a visual decision, and the listing does not say which joints each is intended for.
What the listing does not say
It does not state whether the board is suitable inside a shower enclosure or directly behind a hob, it gives no fire rating, and it does not describe how the marble pattern repeats from board to board, which on a 90cm board is very visible. Ask about all three before you order. It also gives no fixing method; Adhesive for Wall Panels is a separate line, so confirm what suits a PVC board on your wall.
The white version of the same board is Wall Panel 011A - White Marble Wall Board and the darker one is Wall Panel 011C - Gold and Black Marble Wall Board; a grey marble board also appears in the 07 series as Wall Panel 07B - Grey Marble Wall Board, which is four pieces to a pack on a different board size, so ask for its figures rather than reusing the table above. Delivery is free within 50 miles of the Glasgow store and £50 beyond.
