Torino Large Wardrobe: will 130.5cm fit your bedroom wall?
This guide is about
Torino Large Wardrobe
The Torino Large Wardrobe is listed at 130.5 x 56 x 190cm, and the first of those three figures is the one that decides whether it works in your room. A width ending in half a centimetre does not forgive a tight alcove, so it is worth putting a tape measure on the wall before you order rather than after it arrives.
The figures, exactly as the listing gives them
Two sizes sit under the same Torino wardrobe heading, and the large is the wider of the pair:
| Size | As listed |
|---|---|
| Large Wardrobe | 130.5 x 56 x 190cm |
| Small Wardrobe | 90 x 56 x 190cm |
Read in that order the figures are width, depth and height, which is what the numbers themselves suggest: 190cm is a wardrobe's height and 56cm is a wardrobe depth. The listing does not label them, so if your space is tight enough that swapping any two would matter, confirm which is which with the shop before ordering.
Measuring the wall for 130.5cm
- Measure the gap at floor level and again at about shoulder height. Walls in older Glasgow tenement rooms are rarely parallel, and the narrowest point is the one that counts.
- Check the skirting board. A deep skirting holds the back of a wardrobe off the plaster and pushes the front another centimetre or two into the room.
- Allow for the doors. The listing does not say how many doors it has or whether they are hinged or sliding, so plan on needing clear floor in front of the full 130.5cm until the shop confirms it.
- Measure the route, not just the wall. The listing does not say whether it arrives built or flat-packed, so ask: a 190cm unit that comes assembled has to be tilted upright in the room, which needs that much clear diagonal height, plus a stair turn and a door frame it will pass through.
- Mark the 56cm depth on the floor with masking tape and leave it there. That is the honest test of the walkway between the wardrobe and the end of the bed.
What the listing does not tell you
Worth being straight about this, because the product page carries the sizes and little else. It does not state the material or the finish, the colour, the number of doors, whether there is a full-width hanging rail, how many internal shelves or drawers there are, what the handles are, or whether it arrives ready to use or needs putting together. A photograph is not a specification, so ask the shop for any detail that would change your mind, and ask before you order rather than on delivery day.
The rest of the Torino bedroom pieces
Torino runs across a whole bedroom, so the wardrobe does not have to stand on its own. If 130.5cm is more than your wall allows, the Torino Small Wardrobe is the same depth and height at 90cm wide. For folded clothes alongside it, there is the Torino 6 Drawer Chest, and the Torino Bedside 3 Drawer works either side of the bed. See the rest of the wardrobes and the matching chests of drawers to put a full room together.
Ordering the Torino Large Wardrobe
Once the wall, the walkway and the route in all measure up, the Torino Large Wardrobe product page has the photographs and the current price. Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond. If you want to know when it could reach you, or anything the dimensions do not cover, ask the shop and you will get a straight answer rather than a guess.
