Torino Dressing Table: size, legroom and where it fits
This guide is about
Torino Dressing Table
The Torino Dressing Table is listed in one size: 107 x 44 x 75cm. That is the whole of the specification, so this post sticks to the useful part: what those figures mean in a real bedroom, what to measure first, and where the listing goes quiet.
The single size, read carefully
| Listed figure | Usual reading on a piece this shape |
|---|---|
| 107cm | Width across the front |
| 44cm | Depth from the wall to the front edge |
| 75cm | Height to the top surface |
The listing prints the three numbers without labels. On a dressing table they read as width, depth and height, and 75cm is a normal working height for something you sit at. Dimension order is not consistent across this catalogue, though, so if a centimetre either way decides whether it fits an alcove, ask the shop to confirm which figure is which before you order.
Measure the wall, then the floor in front
The width is the figure to take seriously and the depth is the one that saves a small room. Four measurements worth taking:
- The wall. Measure at skirting height and again at 75cm, because a skirting board or a chimney breast can steal the last few centimetres of a 107cm run.
- The depth. At 44cm it projects less than a lot of bedroom furniture, which is what makes it workable on a narrow wall. Check it still clears a radiator or a door that opens inwards.
- The floor in front. You need room to pull a seat out and sit down, not just room for the table. Around 70cm of clear floor is the usual working figure, and more if the route past the bed crosses in front of it.
- The way in. A 107cm face has to turn your doorways, stair return and landing. Measure the tightest point, not the front door.
What the listing does not tell you
Plenty, and better now than after delivery. The listing is the size and nothing else: it does not say whether the piece has drawers at all, let alone how many, nor the material, the finish or the colour, whether a mirror or a stool is included, the clearance under the top, or whether it arrives assembled or flat-packed. If you are matching an existing stool, ask about that clearance: read as a height, 75cm is the top surface, and the listing gives no figure for the gap beneath it. Put those questions to the shop against this code, AWS-TOR32.
The Torino pieces that sit with it
It belongs to the wider Torino bedroom range, so the obvious companions are already in the catalogue. The Torino Bedside 3 Drawer is listed at 47 x 37 x 62cm, which read the same way is shallower than the dressing table and lower than its top. The Torino 6 Drawer Chest is 128 x 40 x 78cm, so it stands slightly taller and needs noticeably more wall. For storage, the Torino Small Wardrobe is listed in two sizes, 90 x 56 x 190cm and 130.5 x 56 x 190cm. Browse the rest of the dressing tables if the 107cm width is more than your wall will take, or the full bedroom furniture range to see what else the room needs.
Ordering it
This is a piece the shop supplies rather than one it builds, so there is nothing to configure: one size, as listed. Delivery is free within 50 miles of the Glasgow store and £50 beyond. Check the top and the front faces on arrival, before anything goes on them. If the figures work on your wall, the Torino Dressing Table page has the photographs and the current price.
