SY1760 (LED) Wall Mirror: the 70 x 90cm heart, and its light
This guide is about
SY1760 (LED) Wall Mirror
The SY1760 (LED) Wall Mirror is the heart-shaped one. Its description lists four shapes and sizes under four codes, which is useful context and a trap at the same time, because only one of them is this product. The heart is the 70 x 90cm, and that is what you are ordering here.
The four codes, and where each is sold
| Code | Listed size and shape | Where to order it |
|---|---|---|
| SY1760 | 70 x 90cm, heart | This page |
| SY1761 | 80 x 80cm, octagon | SY1761 Octagon (LED) Wall Mirror |
| SY1761 | 80 x 120cm | Ask us. It is in the description, not on this page |
| F1761 | 55 x 160cm, free-standing | F1761 (LED) Free-Standing Mirror |
So if you read the size list and wanted the 80 x 120, do not add this one to your basket. Send us a message and we will tell you what is possible.
What 70 x 90cm means for a heart
A heart is wide at the top and comes to a point at the bottom, so the listed figures are the extremes rather than a usable rectangle. You get something close to 70cm of width only across the widest line of the shape, and the glass narrows towards the point below it. That makes this a decorative mirror that reflects a room and a face, not one to check an outfit in.
It also wants space around it. An outline that is not a rectangle fights with the straight lines nearby, so give it plain wall rather than tucking it between a door frame and a wardrobe. Above a dressing table or a chest it works well, because the point of the heart sits down into the gap above the furniture instead of leaving a dead band of wall.
The lighting questions the page cannot answer
The description says the LEDs are hidden in the perimeter and light the crushed diamond border, with no visible light sources. What it does not record is everything you need to plan for, so ask us before ordering:
- Power. Mains, plug or battery is not stated. If it is mains or plug, you need a socket within reach of wherever it hangs, and you need to decide whether the cable is chased into the wall or left visible.
- Switching. No switch type is described. A touch sensor on the glass, an inline switch on a lead and a wall switch are three different jobs for an electrician.
- Colour and brightness. No colour temperature, output or dimming is given. A warm glow behind a border and a cool white task light are not the same thing in a bedroom.
- Replacement. Nothing says whether the LEDs can be replaced. Worth knowing on any lit mirror.
Weight and fixings are not recorded either. Ask what the mirror weighs and what is on the back of it before you drill.
Ordering the SY1760
The three photographs on the SY1760 (LED) Wall Mirror page show the lit border better than any description, and the rest of the lit and unlit pieces sit in Wall Mirrors. If you want the same crushed diamond border without any wiring to think about, the SY1704 Wall Mirror carries it in four rectangular sizes. Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond.
