Wall Panel 83D Dark Brown: how the boards are fixed on
This guide is about
Wall Panel 83D - Dark Brown - Outdoor - 180cm/290cm - (1 pack / 6pcs)
Choosing a cladding finish takes an afternoon. Working out how it is held to the wall takes longer, and it is the part the listing says least about. This is what the Wall Panel 83D in dark brown listing actually tells you about fixing, and what it leaves for you to ask.
How the boards are held on
The listing names the Bracket For Outdoor Panels and recommends brackets for fitting. The bracket's own listing describes a clip measuring 2 x 5cm that slides onto the lip of the panel and is then fastened to the wall surface with a single screw, 50 clips to a pack. Its name and size options cover the 73, 83, 84 and 92 panels, while the description text names only 73, 83 and 84, so confirm the fit for these boards rather than reading it off either on its own. What the listing does not say is where the screw ends up relative to the finished face, so if you are expecting a fixing you cannot see once the wall is clad, ask before you order.
What the listing does not settle
- Spacing. No bracket centre is published, so you cannot work out the pack count from the page. A 290cm board clearly takes more than one clip; how many more is a question for the shop.
- Screws. The clip takes one screw. Nothing says the screw is supplied, or what it should be for brick, block or timber.
- The wall behind. The listings do not state what the system may be fixed to, or whether a batten is wanted on an uneven elevation. On old masonry that is not a detail you want to improvise once the pallet has arrived.
- Bracket size options. The bracket is listed in two sizes, one labelled for 73 and one for 83, and both describe themselves as fitting the same list of panels. Ask which one goes with these boards.
The boards themselves
| Option | Board size | Pieces | Covered per pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| 290 | 21 x 290 x 2.5cm | 6 | 3.65m² |
| 180 | 21 x 180 x 2.5cm | 6 | 2.27m² |
Slats are 3.5cm wide with 1.5cm between them. Both coverage figures assume the full 21cm of every board is on show, so round your pack count up rather than ordering exactly to the square metre.
Matching dark brown through the parts
Dark brown is one of the better covered finishes in this series. The 73/83 Trim in 290cm lists a D Dark Brown that its option names as fitting panels 73D, 83D and 87D, and the 73/83 Corner Trim lists dark brown as well. Ten trim lengths come in a pack and three corner lengths, so count edges and angles separately.
Worth a call before the order
The description's performance wording goes as far as UV resistance, holding colour and structural integrity under prolonged sun, and a general weather-resistant durability, and it puts no figure behind any of it. It makes no claim at all about fire, weight, impact or expansion. If your wall is a shared boundary, a commercial elevation or anywhere a specification has to be met, get the answers in writing first. Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond.
For a lighter wall the 83C in light brown is the same board, and the narrower 87 series covers less per pack but suits tighter runs. Full details and photographs are on the Wall Panel 83D dark brown outdoor panel page, alongside the rest of the outdoor wall panels.
