Roma Small Sideboard: 100cm of wall, 40cm of depth, measured
This guide is about
Roma 2 Door 2 Drawer Small Sideboard
The Roma 2 Door 2 Drawer Small Sideboard is listed at 100 x 40 x 80cm. The size and the door and drawer count in its name are the whole of the data, so this post sticks to what those numbers do in a room and where the listing runs out.
The figures, exactly as listed

|---|---|
| Size available | 100 x 40 x 80cm |
| Doors | Two |
| Drawers | Two |
| Product code | AWS-ROMA-11S |
| Category | Mirrored Furniture |
The dimensions are unlabelled. Read as a sideboard they are 100cm along the wall, 40cm out from it and 80cm to the top. If a centimetre either way decides it, ask us to confirm which figure is which.
100cm is the useful size, not the compromise
A metre of length is what makes this piece fit where a 120cm or 150cm sideboard will not: the wall between two doorways, the space under a window, a dining room that is really a dining end. Three checks before you order:
- Door swing. The listing does not say how the two doors and two drawers are arranged, so it gives you neither the width of a door nor whether the doors are hinged or sliding. Ask us before you plan the clearance, and if they are hinged, stand out from the wall by the width of one door and check you are not in a walkway or against a dining chair.
- Drawer pull-out. The listing does not give the drawer travel. On a 40cm deep piece allow around 35cm for it, which with the 40cm depth makes the working space in front about 75cm.
- What is above. At 80cm the top clears a standard radiator shelf and sits below a window sill in most rooms, but measure the sill: a sideboard pushed under a sill that is 78cm from the floor does not go.
40cm of depth, and what it changes
Depth is what people regret. 40cm is shallow for a sideboard, and that cuts both ways. In its favour: it steals little floor, so it works in a hall where a 45cm piece would be in the way, and nothing gets lost at the back. Against it: dinner plates at 27cm sit fine, but larger serving dishes, a record player or a deep stack of files may not. Measure the biggest thing you intend to put inside.
Small or large?
The same family offers a longer version, and the difference is worth laying out plainly.
| Piece | As listed | Difference |
|---|---|---|
| This one, two doors and two drawers | 100 x 40 x 80cm | Shorter, same height and depth |
| Roma 2 Door 3 Drawer Large Sideboard | 120 x 40 x 80cm | 20cm longer, one more drawer |
So the choice is 20cm of wall and an extra drawer. If your wall has the room and you are storing cutlery, linen or paperwork rather than large objects, the extra drawer earns its place. If the wall is between two doors, take the 100cm.
What the listing does not say, and what it works with
No material, no finish, no weight, no internal shelf detail, nothing about whether the drawers are soft-closing, nothing about assembly. It is filed in Mirrored Furniture and the six photographs will tell you more about the finish than any sentence here.
Along the same wall, the Roma TV Unit 120cm carries the family on for a television, though its height is not given here, and in a bedroom the Roma 4 Drawer Dresser is listed at 90 x 45 x 85cm for drawers only.
