PU656 LED Wings 02: 93 x 88cm, alcoves and chimney breasts
This guide is about
PU656 - LED Wings 02 (White/Warm LED)
PU656 LED Wings 02 is listed at 93 x 88cm: near enough square, which is the shape that solves the awkward spaces. A feather-light outline on a gold stem, with a remote that shifts the LED between crisp white and warm and adjusts the brightness. The two figures are within 5cm of each other, and that matters more than it sounds, so here is what the shape is good for and what to measure.
The listing, as given

The listing does not say which of 93 and 88 is the width and which the height, and with two figures this close that is a real question: hung the wrong way round it will not sit centred in a gap you measured to the centimetre. Ask us to confirm the orientation before you order if you are fitting it into something tight. Worth asking at the same time: the listing calls it a fixture on a gold stem and never states how it is mounted, so do not take a wall fixing for granted.
Why near-square fits where wide does not
Most of the awkward wall in a house is taller than it is wide, or close to square. A chimney breast is often somewhere around 100cm to 120cm across, an alcove beside it narrower again, and a wide piece will not go in either. A 93cm outline leaves a hand's width each side on a 120cm breast and reads as filling it on purpose.
The spots this shape suits:
- a chimney breast, centred above the fireplace opening
- an alcove, where you have height and width but no run
- the wall over a single bed or a narrow console
- the half-landing on a stair, where you see the wall square on
- the face of a boxed-in pillar or a return wall
Measure the gap at its narrowest point, because plaster and skirting are rarely parallel, and measure how far out the breast or pillar projects while you are at it.
Height off the floor
If it is wall-mounted, and that is the thing to confirm first, centring it at about 145cm to 150cm from the floor hits standing eye level, which is right for a stair landing or a hall where you pass it on your feet. Above furniture it wants to sit lower, with a clear gap of a hand's width or two between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the piece. Mark the top and bottom edges with low-tack tape before you commit to a position: 88cm is taller than most people picture.
What the listing does not tell you
None of this is in the data, and all of it is worth a question first: how the piece fixes in place and whether fixings are included, whether it plugs in or needs wiring and where the cable leaves it, what the remote runs on and whether that comes with it, the materials of the feather section and the gold stem, and the weight. No brightness figure is quoted either, so treat it as a second light in the room rather than the main one. This is a piece the shop supplies, so ask us and we will put it to the supplier.
The other two sizes
If 93 x 88cm is the wrong shape for your wall, the group covers the other proportions: PU655 LED Wings 01 is the wide one at 140 x 55cm for above a sofa or a super king headboard, PU657 LED Wings 03 is a true square at 83 x 83cm, and the PU651 Feather Light is the narrow upright at 32 x 100cm. All of them are on the lighting page alongside the floor and table lamps.
