Wall Panel 05C Grey PVC: coverage, trims and fitting checks

Grey is the shade people reach for when a wood effect would fight with the floor. Wall Panel 05C is a PVC panel in a grey wood-effect finish, four pieces to a pack, each listed at 60 x 240 x 0.7cm with 5.76m² of coverage per pack. The photographs matter more than any description with a finish like this, and they are on the Wall Panel 05C grey PVC pack page.

The sum that tells you how many packs

Four panels at 60cm wide butt together into a 2.4m run, and at the full 240cm panel length that run is the 5.76m² the listing quotes. One pack, one wall 2.4m wide. So take your wall width in metres, divide by 2.4 and round up.

Two cautions on that table. It assumes you are panelling floor to ceiling on a wall no taller than the 240cm panel, and it assumes the cut-down panel at one end is usable. If you are panelling to dado height instead, or around a door, work it out in running metres of wall rather than area, because the offcuts are rarely where you need them.

What the listing actually says

• Material: PVC with a wood-effect finish in grey.
• Joint: tongue and groove interlocking, described as giving a gap-free installation.
• Size: 60 x 240 x 0.7cm per panel, 4 pieces per pack.
• Coverage: 5.76m² per pack.
• Suggested rooms: the listing names bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms, and describes the panel as moisture resistant and low maintenance.

And what it does not say, which is just as useful. There is no fire rating, no fixing method, no stated grey reference and nothing about whether the finish is matt or has a sheen. Grey is the hardest colour to buy from a screen, so if the panel has to sit beside an existing grey unit or tile, ask us before you commit to a full wall. Confirm the dimension order as well: 240cm is the panel length and 0.7cm is the thickness, leaving 60cm as the face width.

Edges, corners and the strips that finish them

A panelled wall is judged at its edges. This listing names three finishing pieces, each sold separately:

• Aluminium End Strip - Black / Gold / Silver - 300cm - (1 pack / 10pcs)
• Aluminium Corner Strip - Black / Gold / Silver - 300cm - (1 pack / 10pcs)
• Aluminium I Strip - Black / Gold / Silver - 300cm - (1 pack / 10pcs)

Those come in black, gold or silver, so the trim is a deliberate decision rather than an afterthought: a silver edge reads as quiet against grey, a gold one is a feature in its own right. Count the external corners, internal corners and exposed top edge on your wall before ordering, and remember the strips are 300cm lengths against a 240cm panel.

How it sits with the rest of the range

05C is the lighter of the two greys in this panel system. Wall Panel 05D Dark Grey PVC is the deeper version at the same size and coverage, which is the one to look at if the wall faces strong daylight, and Wall Panel 05B Dark Oak PVC swaps the grey for a dark wood effect on the same panel. No fixing method is given on the panel listing, and Adhesive for Wall Panels is a separate item, so tell us whether you are fixing to plaster, tile or batten and we will confirm what to use. The full set of wall options is in Slat & Acoustic Panels.

Checks before and on delivery

• Measure the wall at three heights and buy for the widest reading.
• In a bathroom or kitchen, establish what happens where the panel meets the bath, the splashback or the worktop, and ask us about sealing that junction.
• Order every pack together so the grey comes from one run.
• Unpack and lay the panels out before fixing, and check 240cm lengths for transit damage before signing.

Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond. When the measurements are settled, order the Wall Panel 05C grey PVC pack, or send us the wall dimensions and we will work out the packs and strips with you.
