Wall Panel 01WG Metallic Gold: how much wall a pack covers

Wall Panel 01WG Metallic Gold: how much wall a pack covers — Langham Furniture journal

This guide is about

Wall Panel 01WG - Metallic Gold - Acoustic - 240cm - (1 pack / 4pcs)

View the product

Gold on a wall is a decision about light, not just colour. Wall Panel 01WG - Metallic Gold - Acoustic uses the same slat geometry as the rest of the 01 range, so the coverage sums are identical to the oak and grey versions; what changes is how the face behaves under a downlight. This post covers the figures, where a metallic panel earns its place, and the things the listing leaves for you to ask about.

The figures, exactly as listed

Listed asFigure

Slat width2.5cm
Space between slats1.5cm

Take the panel size as width, height and thickness, with the 240cm matching the height in the product name. The order is not written consistently across the whole catalogue, so confirm it before cutting.

Coverage, panel by panel

Four panels at 60cm wide cover 2.4m of wall at full height. One pack does a chimney breast; a wall behind a bed usually needs two.

With a metallic face, plan where the cut panel goes before you order. A part-width panel in the middle of a run is far more obvious on gold than on oak, because the reflection stops at the joint.

Lighting a metallic panel

A slatted face lit from directly above throws a shadow into every 1.5cm gap, and that shadow line is most of what a slatted wall gives you. On a reflective finish that shadow line is stronger, so the wall reads as stripes rather than as a sheet of gold. Light it from the front or at an angle if you want the colour; light it from immediately above if you want the texture. Either way, look at a panel under the lamps you actually own before committing a whole room.

If you want a different gold, Wall Panel 01G - Shiny Gold - Acoustic is listed as a shiny gold rather than a metallic one, in the same format and on the same slat and gap figures. For a warmer, less yellow result there is Wall Panel 01WF - Metallic Brown - Acoustic, and Wall Panel 01WJ - Metallic Dark Grey - Acoustic gives the same metallic treatment in a colour that disappears into a dark room. All three use the same slat width and gap, so they meet cleanly at a return.

What the listing does not state

  • How the metallic finish is applied. The listing calls it a metallic-gold finish and does not say whether that is a foil, a film or a sprayed coat, which matters for cleaning and for how a cut edge looks.
  • Whether the cut ends can be touched up, and with what.
  • Any sound absorption figure. The felt backing is described as absorbing sound, but no coefficient or rating is given, so do not specify this against an acoustic requirement without asking.
  • The felt colour behind the slats, which on a gold panel changes the whole character of the wall.
  • No fire classification.

Ordering, trims and fitting

Measure the wall at the bottom, the middle and the top and work from the narrowest figure. Mark sockets and switches onto the back of the panels before any of them go up. The listing names a Wall Panel PVC Trim Acoustic for exposed edges and that is ordered separately, which matters more here than on a wood finish: a raw HDF edge against gold is the first thing a visitor sees. Adhesive for Wall Panels is also a separate line, 24 tubes to a box.

Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond. Compare the finishes on the Slat & Acoustic Panels page, then order Wall Panel 01WG - Metallic Gold - Acoustic - 240cm when your panel count is settled.
