Jewellery Box with Drawers: 21 x 15 x 16cm, and clearance
This guide is about
Jewellery Box with Drawers
Drawers change where a box can go. A lidded box needs air above it; a box with drawers needs air in front of it, and that is the measurement people forget. The Jewellery Box with Drawers is listed at 21 x 15 x 16cm, with mirrored panels and, in the description's words, multiple drawers for organised storage.
A taller box on a smaller footprint
Twenty-one by fifteen centimetres is a small footprint, about the size of a paperback laid flat, and at 16cm the box is taller than it is deep. That combination suits the surfaces where space is tight and height is free: a bedside table, the corner of a dressing table, a shelf in a wardrobe. The listing gives the figures in the order 21 x 15 x 16cm without labelling them, so ask us to confirm which is the width and which the depth if you are fitting it into a measured gap.
Leave room in front
A drawer has to travel roughly its own depth to open fully. If the 15cm figure is the depth of the box, plan for something close to that again as clear space in front before the drawers are usable. Two situations catch people out:
- A box pushed to the back of a narrow bedside table, where a lamp base or a book sits in front of the drawer fronts.
- A box on a shelf inside a wardrobe, where the door frame stops the drawer part way.
Neither is a fault in the piece. Both are solved by measuring the approach as well as the footprint.
Drawers: what the listing actually says
The description says multiple drawers and reflective interior surfaces, and mentions rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. It never gives a number. So before you order, these are fair things to ask us:
| Question | In the listing? |
|---|---|
| How many drawers | No, only that there are several |
| Internal depth of each drawer | No |
| Whether drawers are divided or lined | No |
| Whether there is a hinged top section as well | No |
| Material behind the mirrored panels, and weight | No |
The product page carries seven photographs, which are worth going through to see how the piece is arranged before you ask. Anything the photographs cannot settle, we can check on the piece.
Where it goes, and what goes with it
A drawer box is for storing jewellery out of the light and the dust; a tray is for the pieces in daily rotation. Most dressing tables end up wanting both, and the Mirror Tray at 45 x 32cm is the generous option for that job, with the G-MT03 Mirrored Tray the smaller gold-framed alternative. If the drawers turn out to be more sorting than you need, the plainer Jewellery Box is the low, wide one at 25 x 20 x 10cm. There is more in the Mirror Ornaments range.
