View the product

There are two mirrored jewellery boxes in this range and they are not variations on one idea. The Jewellery Box is the low, wide one, listed at 25 x 20 x 10cm, and the drawer version is taller on a smaller base. Which one suits you depends less on how much jewellery you own than on how you like to get at it.

25 x 20 x 10cm on a dressing table

Twenty-five centimetres wide by twenty deep is roughly the footprint of a sheet of A4 paper with a little taken off the length. Most dressing tables and chests of drawers are 40 to 45cm deep, so a 20cm depth leaves about half the surface clear behind or in front of it. That is the figure to check first: if your top is shallower than 25cm, turn the box so the long side runs along the surface, and confirm which of the listed figures is the width when you enquire.

The 10cm height is the characteristic part. It is low enough to sit under a wall mirror or a shelf without any clearance problem. The listing does not say how the box opens, so leave a little clear air above it in case the top lifts or hinges back; a tall box in the same spot often cannot be opened at all without being pulled forward first.

What the listing says about the inside, and what it does not

The description sets out a mirrored finish, a plain streamlined shape, and generous space inside. It stops there, and the gaps are the things most people actually want to know:

  • Whether the interior is one open compartment or divided into sections.
  • Whether it is lined, and with what.
  • Whether there is a ring roll, a necklace hook or a removable tray.
  • How it opens at all: the listing does not say whether the top hinges, lifts off or catches shut.
  • The material behind the mirrored panels, and the weight.

None of that is in the listing, so none of it is claimed here. There are seven photographs on the product page, the highest count in this range alongside the drawer version, and they are worth going through before you decide. Anything they do not settle, ask us and we will check the piece.

If you want a wide, low box that will sit under a mirror or a shelf, this is the one. If chains tangle and you want them separated, the Jewellery Box with Drawers is the one to look at.

What it sits with

A tray beside the box takes the pieces you are wearing today, which is what stops them being left on the windowsill. The G-MT03 Mirrored Tray has a gold frame, or the Mirror Tray (Round) is 28cm across, though its listing names no frame colour. The rest of the Mirror Ornaments range is worth a look for a matching group.
