G-MT03 Mirrored Tray: 35 x 27cm, and the gold frame
This guide is about
G-MT03 Mirrored Tray
The G-MT03 Mirrored Tray is the one piece in the Mirror Ornaments range whose listing commits to a colour. The frame is described as gold, which makes it the obvious choice if your taps, handles or lamp bases are brass or gold and a plain silvered edge would sit wrong beside them. The listed size is 35 x 27 x 6.5cm.
35 x 27cm is a rectangle, whatever the copy says
Worth flagging straight away: the description calls it a square tray, and the figures it gives are not square. Thirty-five by twenty-seven centimetres is a rectangle, 8cm longer on one axis than the other. Plan your surface around 35 x 27cm and set the word square aside. If you specifically want a square or a round tray, say so when you enquire rather than relying on the description.
That footprint is a practical one for a dressing table or the top of a chest of drawers. It is wide enough to take a row of perfume bottles with a small dish beside them, and short enough front to back that it does not crowd a 40cm deep top. On a coffee table it gathers a remote, a candle and a coaster into one object, which is the real use of a tray.
The third figure, and what to ask about it
| Listed figure | What it governs |
|---|---|
| 35cm | The longer side. Measure the width of the surface and leave a margin. |
| 27cm | The shorter side. Check your top is deeper than this, front to back. |
| 6.5cm | Not labelled in the listing. Ask whether it is the overall height or the depth of the raised edge. |
That last one matters more than it looks. If 6.5cm is a rim, bottles stand inside a deep wall and look held; if it is the overall height including feet, the wall is shallower than that. The listing does not say, so ask us to check rather than guessing from a photograph. There are four photographs on the product page, which help with proportion but will not settle the question.
What the listing does and does not state
Described: a mirrored surface, a gold frame, and a use case of organising jewellery, perfumes or small decorative objects. Not described: whether gold is the frame's material or only its finish, the glass thickness, the weight, and whether the underside has any padding. If the tray is going on a polished or lacquered top, the last of those is the one to ask about, because a hard edge dragged across a finish is how trays cause damage.
What it works with
For jewellery you want out of sight rather than on show, the Jewellery Box with Drawers covers that at 21 x 15 x 16cm and sits happily beside this. If you want a bigger tray or a round one instead, compare the Mirror Tray at 45 x 32cm or the Mirror Tray (Round) at 28cm across. Neither of those listings names a frame colour, so if the edge matters to you, ask us before ordering.
