G-Lucy Chair: how a 103cm scroll-top back changes a room
This guide is about
G-Lucy Chair (Ring Knocker/Gold Legs)
The G-Lucy has one of the taller backs in this range. It is listed at 67 x 50 x 103cm, so the top of that scroll back is over a metre from the floor. That single figure is the reason to choose it and the reason to measure first. The photographs and the finish choices are on the G-Lucy Chair (Ring Knocker/Gold Legs) page.
67 x 50 x 103cm, read properly
The 103cm is the overall height to the crown of the back. The other two figures are the footprint, and the listing does not label them, so confirm which is the seat width and which is front to back before you plan a set. The description also names the detailing: velvet upholstery, a stitched back, polished gold legs with matching studs, and a gold ring knocker.

What the height actually does: in a separate dining room a row of tall backs frames the table and makes the room feel furnished. In an open-plan kitchen the same backs become a screen between the table and the rest of the room, and they will cross a low window sill. Measure from the floor to your sill, and to the underside of any shelf or wall unit behind the table, and compare both with 103cm before you order.
The footprint sums are easier. At 67cm a chair, two need 134cm of table edge and three need just over 200cm, so a 150cm table takes two a side and three a side wants a table nearer 210cm. Pushing back needs the depth again behind it.
Black, Cream or Dark Grey, and what they are called on the page
The description lists Black, Cream and Dark Grey. The finish selector on the product page names its black option as crushed black, so if a flat black rather than a crushed velvet matters to you, ask us which is correct for the chair you want before ordering. Cream is the one to think hardest about: the listing gives no cleaning code and no composition, so ask us what the supplier states before you put a pale velvet round a table where children eat.
The same size with chrome legs
If the shape is right but the gold is not, the Lucy 01 Chair (Lion Knocker/Chrome Legs) is listed at the same 67 x 50 x 103cm with chrome legs and a lion knocker instead of the ring, in crushed black or dark grey. The trade-off is the finish range: cream appears on the gold listing and not on the chrome one.
For a lower back on gold legs, the G-Milan Chair is listed at 86cm, which is 17cm shorter and sits that much lower across a room. Between the two sits the G-Roma Chair at 97cm with a hexagonal stitched back. If polyurethane rather than velvet is the point, the London PU Chair also has a scroll-top back, at 100cm on chrome legs.
What the listing does not say
- Seat height. Missing, and it decides whether the chair clears your table apron.
- Velvet composition and cleaning. Named as velvet, with nothing further.
- Frame, filling and weight limit. None of the three is stated.
- Assembly. The listing does not say whether the legs arrive fitted.
This is a chair we supply rather than one from our own range, so the specification is the supplier's. Ask us and we will check it rather than fill the gap with a guess.
Before you order
- Measure floor to window sill, and floor to the underside of anything hanging behind the table.
- Measure the usable table edge and divide by 67cm plus a gap.
- Ask us for the seat height, and measure your table apron.
- Check the chair will turn through the doorway and up any stairs on its diagonal.
