Fencing 94D Dark Oak: a pack a bay, and what it sits with
This guide is about
Fencing 94D - Dark Oak - Outdoor - 180cm (1 Pack / 6pcs)
The Fencing 94D board pack in dark oak is the deep shade of the 30cm composite profile. The wide board is the one that divides neatly into a standard bay, so ordering a whole boundary in it takes one calculation rather than a running tally.
A pack is a bay
The listing gives the board at 30 x 180 x 1.8cm when fitted and interlocked, six boards to a pack, and 3.24m² covered, and states one pack per fence panel. The numbers back that up: six boards 30cm deep stack to 1.80m, the boards are 1.80m long, and 1.8 by 1.8 is 3.24m².
| Board size, fitted | 30 x 180 x 1.8cm |
|---|---|
| Boards per pack | 6 |
| Coverage per pack | 3.24m² |
| Packs per fence panel | 1, per the listing |
| Boards across a full bay | 6, with 5 joints |
- Measure between post centres in metres, at both ends of the run.
- Divide by 1.8m for bays and round up.
- Order a pack per bay at full height. A 14m boundary is eight bays and eight packs.
- For a lower fence, divide the finished height in metres by 0.30 for boards, then by six for packs. A 1.2m fence is four boards a bay, so one pack does a bay with two boards over, and two packs do three bays with nothing wasted.
- Add a cutting allowance, and ask the shop what it should be for this profile.
Dark oak and black fittings
Both uprights the listing names are black: the 6-inch black fence post, four to a pack, and the 8-inch black fence post, two to a pack. So is the Fencing 94 Trim in black, the trim named for this profile, which is cut to length to finish the top and bottom edges of a panel against an existing concrete post. A dark board sits closer in tone to black fittings than a pale one does, which is a judgement about how it looks rather than anything the listing says.
That is as far as the listing goes on colour, though. Dark oak is a name: there is nothing on sheen, nothing on grain depth, and nothing on how one pack matches another. Look at a board in daylight, and if the fence is going up in stages ask the shop about matching later packs.
One dimension worth a question
The description opens by calling the boards 2cm thick, while the size line reads 30 x 180 x 1.8cm. The thickness is the figure a trim or a post channel actually has to accept, so settle which one is right with the shop before buying fittings to suit it. The 180cm length and the 30cm face are unambiguous.
The listing also says the composite is weather and UV resistant, protecting against fading in direct sunlight, and that the boards interlock without visible gaps. It says nothing about what the composite is made of, carries no fire classification or wind rating, and does not state whether fixings are included with the posts or trims. If the boundary is exposed, or a planning condition applies, ask before ordering.
The alternatives either side
In the same width, Fencing 94A in oak is the warm shade and Fencing 94B in grey oak the cool one, both six to a pack. If you want a dark boundary with a tighter line pattern, Fencing 88D in dark brown is the 16cm board, which the listing puts at two packs to a panel. The whole profile range sits in fencing, inside the wider garden and outdoor listings.
Delivery is free within 50 miles of the Glasgow store and £50 beyond. On the day, count the boards and lay one against your own measurement before anything is cut. When the bays are counted, order the Fencing 94D dark oak pack one to the bay, plus the allowance the shop advises.
