Fencing 94B Grey Oak: wide boards, and a pack to each bay

Fencing 94B Grey Oak: wide boards, and a pack to each bay — Langham Furniture journal

This guide is about

Fencing 94B - Grey Oak - Outdoor - 180cm (1 Pack / 6pcs)

View the product

The Fencing 94B board pack in grey oak is the grey shade of the widest profile here, and the width is what you are really choosing. Six boards fill a standard bay on their own, which keeps both the ordering and the levelling simple.

What a pack covers

The listing gives the board at 30 x 180 x 1.8cm when fitted and interlocked, six to a pack, 3.24m² covered. The figures close: six boards 30cm deep stack to 1.80m, the boards are 1.80m long, and that is 3.24m². The listing states one pack per fence panel, which is exactly what the arithmetic says.

So a 9m boundary at full height is five bays and five packs. An 18m boundary is ten bays and ten packs. Measure between post centres rather than along the ground, measure at both ends of the run, and add whatever cutting allowance the shop advises for this profile.

94B or 88B: the same shade name, two widths

Fencing 88B carries the same grey oak name on a 16cm board. The difference is practical rather than cosmetic: twelve 16cm boards stack to 1.92m, so the narrow profile overshoots a 1.8m bay and leaves a board to cut, while this one lands on the bay height. The narrow board gives eleven lines across a bay against five here.

The two listings share the words grey oak, but neither says they are the same grey, so do not run one profile into the other on the same boundary without seeing the pair together.

One figure to check, and several the listing omits

The opening description says the boards are 2cm thick; the size line says 1.8cm. Ask the shop which is right before you buy trims or work to an existing post channel, because that is the one dimension a fitting cares about. Beyond that, the listing describes the composite as weather and UV resistant and protecting against fading in direct sunlight, and says the boards interlock without visible gaps. It does not say what the composite is made of, give a fire classification, state a wind rating, or mention sheen, grain depth or batch matching. Nothing in the listing says one pack will match the next, so if the run is going up in stages, ask the shop about that before the first order rather than after it.

Posts, trims and finishing the edges

For a new run the listing names the 6-inch black fence post, four to a pack, and the 8-inch black fence post, two to a pack. For an existing concrete post run it names trims, including the Fencing 94 Trim in black, which is cut to length to finish the top and bottom edges of a panel. Black posts against grey oak boards read as a frame rather than a match, which some gardens want and some do not, so see them together.

If the grey is too cool for the setting, Fencing 94D in dark oak and Fencing 94A in oak are the same board at the same pack size. All of them sit in fencing, inside the wider garden and outdoor range.

Delivery is free within 50 miles of the Glasgow store and £50 beyond. Count the boards on arrival and check one against your own measurement before anything is cut. Once the bay count is settled, order the Fencing 94B grey oak pack one to the bay, plus the allowance the shop advises.
