Fence Lattice 01 Flower: where a 30cm aluminium band fits
This guide is about
Fence Lattice 01 - Flower
A solid composite fence does its job and says very little. A lattice band breaks the run up and gives the top of a bay a line to look at. Fence Lattice 01 - Flower is the cut-pattern version of that idea in the fencing range, listed at 180 x 30 x 0.2cm.
What the listing gives you
- Lattice sheet 180 x 30 x 0.2cm, described as lightweight aluminium.
- Top and bottom aluminium trim strips, one of them grooved to lock into standard fence panel trims.
- Trim thickness 19mm.
- Each pack holds one lattice, two top and bottom trims, two L-connectors and eight screws.
- Supplier code AWS-AS024.
Two numbers do the useful work here. The sheet is 180cm long, which is the same length as the composite boards in this range, so it lines up with a standard bay without cutting. And it is 30cm tall, which is exactly the height of two 15cm boards. Swap the top two boards of a bay for the lattice and the fence finishes at the same height it would have reached anyway.
Working it into a bay
A full bay in this range is twelve boards at 15cm, so 180cm. Here is what the band does to that stack.
| Build-up | Boards at 15cm | Lattice | Total height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solid bay | 12 | none | 180cm |
| Lattice at the top | 10 | 30cm | 180cm |
| Solid bay plus a band above | 12 | 30cm | 210cm |
The second row keeps the boundary height the same and needs the same two packs of boards per bay less two boards; the third raises the line and wants a post tall enough to carry it, which is where 8" Fence Post - Black (1 Pack / 2pcs) at 240cm comes in rather than the 190cm post.
What the listing does not say
It names the design Flower and describes precision-cut detailing, but it does not give the pattern's hole size, how much of the sheet is open, or whether it screens a view at all. It also does not state the aluminium's colour or finish. All of that is a photograph question rather than a specification question, and the gallery on the product page is the place to settle it.
One fitting detail is worth a phone call. The trim is listed at 19mm thick and described as locking into standard fence panel trims, while the posts in this range are grooved 20mm wide and 18mm deep for 2cm boards. Those are close but not identical figures, so confirm the combination against the posts or concrete posts you actually have before ordering.
What it sits with
The other pattern in the range is Fence Lattice 02 - Strips, listed at the same size with the same pack contents. For the boards either side of the band, Fencing 86A - Oak 03 is six boards a pack and two packs a bay, and the range's trim is sold separately in five finishes. Delivery is free within 50 miles of the Glasgow store and £50 beyond.
If the run is long and flat and needs something to interrupt it, price up Fence Lattice 01 - Flower a bay at a time rather than for the whole boundary; one band per bay at the top is usually plenty, and the shop can check the trim fit against your posts first.
