Most of what is interesting about the BK-Roma Dining Table (1.8m) is underneath it. The listing describes two substantial legs rather than four, and on a 180cm table that changes where people can sit. One size is listed: 180 x 90 x 75cm, read as 180cm long, 90cm deep and 75cm high.

What two legs change

With a leg at each corner, chairs land in four fixed positions and anything wider than a chair is awkward. With two supports, the long sides are clear between them, so chairs slide along the edge and a bench becomes possible rather than a gamble.

The honest caveat: the listing does not say how far the legs are set in from the ends, nor how wide each foot is. Both figures decide whether a bench actually tucks under and whether an end chair clears the support. Ask the shop for the inset and the foot width before you buy seating to go with it. The listing describes the leg design as maximising legroom and the ceramic top as resisting staining and wear; it gives no top thickness, no weight and no finish detail beyond the ceramic top.

What 180 x 90cm seats

Allow somewhere near 60cm of table edge per place setting. On a 180cm side that is three places, so six around the long sides, and the 90cm depth is just enough to put someone at each end without them being in the way.

The floor it needs

The table is 180 x 90cm. The thing that has to fit is the table, the chairs and the gap behind them. Allow about 75cm out from each edge for a chair in use and about 100cm where someone has to pass behind a seated guest.

  • Chairs on the long sides only: roughly 180 x 240cm of clear floor.
  • Chairs all round: roughly 330 x 240cm.
  • Walkways on every side: nearer 380 x 290cm.

A bench on one side changes the arithmetic in your favour, because a bench can be pushed fully under when the table is not in use. That is the main practical reason to want a two-leg table in a room that is short of space. Tape the footprint out on the floor before you order; it takes five minutes and settles the argument.

Measure the route in as well

A 180cm top will not flex. Measure the narrowest point of the hall, any turn on the stairs, and the clear width of the door with the door itself open. If the top and base arrive separately, the top is still the dimension that decides it.

The tables to compare it with

At the same 180cm length, the BK-Jessica Dining Table (1.8m) uses an angular black frame instead, and the BK-Milan Dining Table (1.5/1.8m) puts the support on a central cross pedestal and also offers 150cm, which is the one to look at if 180cm is more table than your room wants. If you may need to go longer, the SG-London Dining Table (1.8/2m) offers a 2m size. The rest of the range sits in dining tables.

Ordering

Ask for the leg inset if a bench is part of the plan, measure the floor and the route, and check the photographs for how the base reads from the side. Delivery is free within 50 miles of our Glasgow store and £50 beyond. Everything else is on the BK-Roma Dining Table (1.8m) page.
