BK-Milan Coffee Table: 120cm top, cross base and clearance

BK-Milan Coffee Table: 120cm top, cross base and clearance — Langham Furniture journal

This guide is about

BK-Milan Coffee Table

View the product

The BK-Milan Coffee Table is listed at one size, 120 x 60 x 45cm, with a cross-shaped pedestal base built from four black legs and a ceramic top. That is a long, low rectangle. Whether it suits your room is mostly a question of what sits around it rather than anything about the table itself, so this guide works through the measuring and says plainly where the listing stops.

For a coffee table those three figures read as length, depth and height, and 45cm is an ordinary coffee-table height. The listing does not label them, so if a centimetre either way matters, ask us to confirm which figure is which before you order.

Does 120 x 60cm work in front of your sofa?

Two numbers decide it. The first is your sofa's length. A 120cm table reads as balanced in front of a sofa of roughly 180cm to 240cm, and begins to look undersized in front of a large corner group. The second is the gap you leave in front. About 40cm between the sofa and the table edge gives room for feet and for somebody to pass; at 30cm it feels tight, and at 50cm you are reaching for your mug.

Put together, plan on roughly 200cm of floor along the length and about 140cm front to back once the sofa and the walkway are counted. Measure the route in as well as the spot it will stand: a 60cm depth clears most internal doorways, but measure yours and check the turn at the top of a stair.

Height: 45cm against your seat cushion

Most sofa seats sit in the mid-forties in centimetres, so a 45cm top lands roughly level with the cushion. Level is the comfortable setting for a mug, a laptop or a plate. If your sofa is a low, deep-seated design, the top will stand a little above the cushion line, which is worth knowing if you had a lower, longer look in mind.

What the listing does not say

  • No weight is given. A ceramic top is not light, so plan the route in and have somebody with you on delivery day.
  • No thickness, colour or pattern for the top. The photographs on the BK-Milan Coffee Table page are the best guide, and we can confirm what the current surface looks like.
  • Nothing on assembly, packaging or cleaning. If you need to know whether the base arrives attached to the top, ask us before you order.

We would rather tell you the listing is silent than fill the gap with a guess.

What it sits with

For the same ceramic top on two legs rather than four, the BK-Roma Coffee Table is listed at the same 120 x 60 x 45cm. For that footprint with a gold base rather than black, see the G-Jessica Coffee Table, and for a chrome frame on four legs the Lewis Coffee Table. All of them sit in Coffee Tables, where the photographs can be compared side by side.
