About the Katie
Katie is the answer to a bedroom with nowhere left to put anything. Ordered as a standard frame it is a simple upholstered bed with a full-height headboard and clean, unfussy lines. Ordered with gas-lift ottoman storage, it becomes the largest cupboard in the house: the whole platform rises on struts to open up the entire footprint underneath.
The ottoman version is built on our solid base rather than slats, made in two halves. That gives the mattress a continuous surface to rest on and makes the compartment beneath considerably stronger than an open framework would be. It also changes the proportions a little — the base sits flush with the mattress and the headboard runs down flush to the floor — so the ottoman measures slightly smaller than the standard frame. Both sets of figures are worth reading before you order.
